Last night they had a Blitz evening at the Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club. One had to be dressed up 1940s style and the food was representative of that era...... it was the best grub I've ever had there.
At every table placement there was one old penny. You needed this because beer was a penny a pint, 2 soft drinks for a penny or 4d bought you a bottle of plonk. Wartime music was played throughout and speeches by Churchill.
The prize for the best dressed wartime lady went to MikeT's wife. Personally I though MikeT should have won it until someone told me that he was just wearing his normal clothes which he finds out the back of charity shops in their bins.
