Hi all, I've got twin 1991 7.4l Mercruisers set up in my 1991 Tiara 3600 Open Express and I was just wondering if anyone has the fuel consumption or performance reports for this year.

Thanks

I'm a big supporter of petrol boats, but that one scares even me

Don't know the exact numbers but would estimate from 10-30gph for each engine, around 20gph each at cruising.

That be a fantastic app
Yes indeed. Can't recall where I first saw it - possibly on here, but everyone I know who's tried it reckons it's proved pretty accurate. I guess a lot will depend on vessel and load, but that will likely affect the speed more than fuel burn. There are other tools out there for calculating speed based on hull, hp, prop, rpm etc but estimating likely fuel use is quite a useful starting point for those of us on a shoestring! Not sure I'd want to run a pair of 7.4's at any speed myself and one would be more than enough...

once took a boat called wheeler dealer from stainlands marina thorne to hull marina after a refit.
it ran a pair of 7.4big blocks.....it used 200quids worth of fuel..thats when petrol was 70-80p a litre.
distance was 9mile by canal, and about 28-30 mile from keadby to hull.
it used the lot!

An estimate: http://www.boat-fuel-economy.com/mercury-mercruiser-454-7.4-fuel-consumption-liters (don't forget to click the 'twin engine'...)

Arguably, if you have to ask then probably too much! :p

Hi, thank you for introducing my (hobby) website Boat-Fuel-Economy !!!

Please can you help me, im from the Netherlands, here we use kilometers and liters, in the US they use gallons and miles.... but what is common in the UK England??

The link in your post is in Liters, on my website I have also made a part with UK (Imperial/canadian) Gallons, this part has not much viewers

Greetings from the netherlands, mart
