Evening all, wondering if anyone on here has any first hand knowledge of these motors?
late 70s, early 80s 2 stroke outboard, manufactured by yamaha but later sold as mariner.
Shared block/platform and lots of posts on the internet suggesting a simple method of upgrading from the 10 to 15 (ish, obviously) hp. Can't find anything definitive, though. Some places saying only a carb swap, some saying its just adjusting the stops on the reed valves. Online part numbers are not particularly helpful unfortunately so far, that I can see, though I could be looking in the wrong places.
Anyone know what the real differences are?
Not interested in the pros and cons of making a conversion, just want to know what components provide the restriction on the 9.9
