1962 GRP for sail

£15 look a crazy suggestion until I viewed yachtworld.com. Similar size/age boats are the following. These prices suggest £15 may be possible given the pedigree, but £10 -12 more likely.

29' Dauntless Motor Sailer 1950 12,000
29' Dragon 1956 10,000
29' Elizabethan 29 1967 12,950
29' International DragonIn... 1956 10,000
29' Kings Cruiser 29 1972 11,000
29' Mcgruer Gaff Cutter 1938 29,750
29' Shipman 28 1974 12,950
29' Snapdragon 890 1972 9,000
29' Trintella Ia 29 1967 17,500

Seems a bit odd that it's described as a Ketch & I don't think I would buy any boat without inspecting it personally. That said it looks like a nice reasonable little boat.Might be worth......6/7 grand?

What will this 29ft go for? Only one bid so far. Not buying, just trying to get a feel for the market.

Some boats on ebay are a hoax.... assuming this is not and if the structural integrity of hull, rig, engine are o.k. then with that pedigree she could be a relly nice little buy.
If she goes this week I reckon she may fetch £4750 but possibly worth twice that if all is in very good condition.

nice looking boat, but needs a lot of work to get her back to tip top,

I would limit to around 5k if I was after that type of boat.

the fact that the sail is on the boom would lead me to believe she is in a state of use which is good.

Maybe im missing something, but the blurb says Ketch Rigged ???? yet she only has one mast.

Ok willing to make a fool of myself if someone can please explain.

Or is it a scam. Happened plenty of times on Ebay with motors. Matey turns up to buy car with 6K in cash and car turns out to be on someone else's drive.

When was the first GRP built ??

Pioneer 9 value

As an owner of one my view is that it will probably sell for under £5k, Probably nearer £4099 (my guess). As others have said the engine is worth that and the hull is unlikely to have any major issues. Suspect the deck is painted which is not great, the fact that the keelbolts have been checked by ultrasound tells me it's probably not a scam, the owner knows his boat. The trouble is that they lack a proper seperate heads compartment. I have seen many variations to overcome this but none will ever give you modern standard of accomodation - and most modern boats don't give you the build quality and sailing performance. For the right person it could make a cracking buy and they like I will get many mile of very happy sailing. Funny old thing but I'm sitting watching it on e-bay myself!

I don't know much about this class of boat, obviously not a modern fitout, but it looks sort of businesslike, no frills, good length, probably not a handfull for one. Heads compartment? You mean you can have a separate place to keep a bucket? If I hadn't just done last year's accounts I'd probably go for a look.
