I am currently restoring a 1912 Harrison Butler "Yacht memory" The shipwright I employed has replaced the stem, stern, deadwood and 30 ribs. He has suggested I replace all the ribs while he has the deck off. He also wants to replace the steel floors with stainless steel. I am more than happy with his work, in fact it is excellent, but am I destroying this fine yacht by replacing the structure with modern materials. This is the oldest HB yacht known to be in existence and I want to do the job tight.
