When do you expect to arrive in Chatham? My berth is B4, just opposite the ablutions block. If you see me onboard, come over for a chat.

Gillingham are still working on my boat, I will be on D49

Thank you, I will say hi. I was there yesterday to see what my berth number was. After passing to see progress of my boat at gillingham. Im a pretty shy persion and get my words tied lots especially if tired or lose my train of thought lol

Current status of my boat, they are in the process of fixing the new trim in the galley. The replacement rail is done and new decals that matched the originals by jeanneau.

I have also asked them to check the lifting keel that i have not seen since i got the boat in 2017 at Burnham on crouch. And to have a look at my engine controls and reverse seems a bit clunky. hoping all done before gillingham close their lock for maintenance on the 22nd

My view wwiw is that since your marina demands this daft system because they are too tight to meter the berths, they should either point you to a supplier or waive the charges

i agree because the berth fees are high. but i know they dont as i know a few others from erith yacht club that are now at Chatham. (3 other boats)

How would you suggest they meter the berths ?

Unless it's a very high tech system, such as Premier use on the Hamble, you're left open to visitors using your electricity when you're away. At least with the metered cable you take it with you when you go.

My home marina uses metered cables, which they supply, subject to a deposit, which is refundable when i leave, so in the long run it costs me nothing and no-one can steal my electricity.

When I needed one I posted a wanted ad in the for sale forum here, and also on all the Facebook boaty for sale groups, yachts and yachty bits, Facebook Marketplace etc.

I got one locally within a couple of days for about £40 I think.

Haven Marinas prohibit Rolec brand inline meters, but other makes (including Metermaid) are permitted.

Try getting in touch with these people, can be difficult to contact but much cheaper. Marine

At Clarence they read the meters manually. You are requested to notify them when you are away and they take note appropriately. They also put you in a monthly champagne draw if you do tell them you will be away to encourage you (never win it?)
