16\' Fast Motor Dinghy--\" Skimming Dish \"

Hi, I'm still looking for other owners or info/pictures from their service days. The restoration is going on slowly but steadily on FMD 5383.

They made 954 of these little ships. SOMEONE out there must know the whereabouts of any survivors. I know of the one on HMS Belfast, and the one at the BMPTfrom HMS Dainty. . . .they can't be that rare. . .or are they ?

Hi there, I am a new member from the Isle of Wight. UK and my friend and I are in the final stages of restoring a Skimming Dish (Captains launch) but it is one of the first GRP launches built in 1955, still with its original Coventry Climax 4 cylinder 2 stroke diesel engine with Roots super charge blower, (all brand new parts) well, 53 years old but all packed in grease and wax.. The engine is in the stern of the boat with a transfere box directing the prop beneath the engine, Original solid copper hand rivited fuel tank and all brass stearing rod system.. One thing, we don't have any plans for the cabin or cuddy so if anyone could help please let me know.. regards to all
Our boat was built by Hugh McLean and sons from Renfrew, Scotland Builders No, 4623 and served on HMS London. I have many pictures of the boat and parts on it if any one is interested.
