anyone got the faintest idea whhere to buy/find a massive cspanner, diameter bout 150 to 160mm?

c-spanners are thing that erm look like a c with a handle, question-mark-shaped overallm with a little tab at the far end opf the c. You'd need one to adjust the suspension settings on an old motorbike, to hook into a slot and turn it. Cept this one wd be for a retaining nut on propshaft.

Have a look around for a company doing brewery/food factory pipework. Most of the stainless tube is joined with unions rather than flanges and I would have thought that something like 80 o/d tube unions would require that sort of spanner.

If you've had no luck by next week pm me with details and I'll ask a few contacts.

do you always take nuts of with a cold chisel. Most people find spanners quite handy!

A C-Spanner of that size will be very expensive for a one off job. Hire a suitable large pipe wrench from your local tool hire shop for about £10.

Really what you need is a large vice, attach to lock nut. Start engines, rev hard, and then jam in gear .. should sort it out!
