14mm 3 strand nylon; costs

Looking for some of the above. There is a big variation in cost.

Reliance marine £3.82
Jimmy Greens £2.99
Euroropes £1.39
Ropes and Twines £1.40

Am I missing something? I guess that salesmans spiel will be along the lines of "Ah but is it Liros/Marlow etc?" but isn't 14mm Nylon 3 strand rope just Nylon 3 strand rope?

All that you can do is compare same brands from the various companies. Sometimes I ask which is the best brand and do they stock it. Some companies are up front over brands and prices and others say that what they stock is the best. Another option is to look at the maximum working load if given. This may make sense of the price variation.

Thanks guys. I will follow Stork IIIs lead, their range looks good. The surise is that they are a chandlers wherase the other 2 chandlers had the highest prices.
I did manage to compare the quoted loadings for a 'cheap and an expensive one' and they were the same.
