I have an alarm system on my boat that is linked to a mobile phone which calls me if anyone enters the boat. Does anyone know where I can get a 12v timer that can run from the cig lighter power point to the phone, I will have to modify I am sure. This would allow me to charge the phone say every few days without leaving it constantly charging?

Couple of possibilities...

If you want a ready-made 12v timeswitch, you could use an Eberspacher timer (often found on eBay) or a Siemens Logo module (sometimes found on eBay, make sure it's the 12v version). If you have to pay more than £30 or so, it's probably cheaper just to leave the phone on charge.

Try most intruder alarm suppliers, I carry one on my box paid about £10-£12, can be adjusted from 5 sec to 120 mins (I think), quite clever little gadged an be used with another timer to restart original etc try CSD professional 0208 591 8737 should have a branch near you. Just for something slightly different...

Get a digital central heating timeswitch, they come as battery models as well. This will provide you with days of week and times of day.
