We had one of these fitted - it closes (presumably under spring pressure) when switched off or power fails, so fail safe in other words
It has failed (safely) permanently and I'm looking for a replacement but don't really know the proper name nor can I find one online
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Original item was US made and doesn't seem to be easily available in uk
Thanks

I got one from my local calor gas shop. Beware that the US version will probably have imperial fittings whereas new UK ones will be metric. You can get conversion fittings but they are pricey e.g. 5x the cost of plain metric.

Medium: Air, water, diesel. NOT for gas.

Gas one here: http://www.gasproducts.co.uk/acatalog/12V_Gas_Solenoid_Valve.html
Price: £30.44

That is the one I fitted when I overhauled our gas system.

Very good, exceptional value for money-a direct replacement for the failed one was almost £200.00!

As our gas locker is on the side deck, I shielded the valve with a small milk container, cut to fit around the unit. This keeps it dry-well, dryer!

I bought a few of those for diesel heater remote shut off but they are now in the bin, they need more amps than the heater uses to keep them open (the Nerus uses a tad over 0.2a), also I really wouldn't risk them on gas, well not LPG gas anyway, the Chinese can say anything in their description, but what gas? there was no CE mark on the batch I got and for something like LPG I certainly would not only want to see that but also the relevant document.
