I've got a 12m berth in Barcelona's Port Vell up to 1st Sept but they are full up after that date. I would like to winter there. Anyone know of any pending winter cancellations or sneeky dodges to get a place.
thanks
David

Thanks for the reply. I know Port Olympic which is a bit noisy for us, but Forum 2004 is presumably part of the new impressive Forum which I've seen the outside of. Do you know if they have set up a marina yet. Mare magnum I don't know, have you any other info.
thanks

to get a place is simple. you simply buy a new boat every two years . One or two sales outlets have been buying every avalable bearth and renting others on block.Im amazed at people who buy a boat then imagin they will have somwhere to leave it
The med is full
The director of a popular port said to me if more of us would go crusing in summer ther would be places for others visiting , he really thought there was some where to go even the open bays are full, and winters almost as bad, i know many port captains and even i have to ASK if there may be a free place for a couple of weeks, used to be just 4 5 years ago i would arrive and stay as long as i paid between october and april all thats finished

You would have to walk along to Forum 2004, but should be open by now. Metro goes there as does the # 36 bus.
Mare magnum there are two but one is a black tie posh type invite only. dont know which one is which but just knock on the door and ask.
I grant you Olympico is a wee bit noisy, but still conveinient for the city and airport.
Port Ginesta is also close to the airport going the other way, but the next one down Garraf is a bit isolated.

Thanks Mike
I've sent Forum 2004 an e-mail so may hear soon. Ginesta is a good suggestion except, guess what, they are full. I'm on a waiting list there.
Trouville unfortunately is correct (for the west med) which is a problem for people like me (a very part time livaboard) who want to experience different areas and who don't want a permanent location.
lets see!
