12 Volt supply for electronic piano

My keyboard has a 230/12V AC/DC transformer: there is no problem using it off a standard 12V battery. Will using it on board when the alternator/charger is in service (and voltage may rise to 14.5) fry the electronics? Should a voltage stabiliser or other means be used?

The piano will definitely have voltage stablisers built in. But what their working range is, I couldn't say. What is it? Have you looked at the schematics?
