Hi guys,
I'm looking for 12v 25w screw base bulbs for a ceiling light fixture. Apparently available in Germany but not UK/Ireland (boat is Dutch). Any ideas?

That an SES fitting then, aka E14. The next size up is ES or E27 the next one down is MES or E10. There are some non standard sizes about as well though!

Sorry Alampco was no good was it

If it's an E14 there's a place that does these:

If you are having trouble getting the bulbs you might consider changing over to halogens - they are hugely more efficient and give a better quality of light. Spare bulbs are also easy to get and almost certainly much cheaper.

Thanks for all the help, guys.
I did indeed find the bulbs on uklightbulbs.co.uk - isn't the internet wonderful!!
The halogen idea is intriguing - especially if they draw less current from the battery.

A 25watt halogen bulb will draw exactly the same current as a 25 watt tungsten bulb. You do get more light for your watts though.

But bear in mind that halogens are more sensitive to overvoltage use - the life expectancy is dramatically reduced.

According to one source, life expectancy is decreased to 50% by 5% overvoltage (that is, 0.6V on 12V) and by about 75% by 10% overvoltage. Perhaps, with a life-expectancy of around 2000hrs at 12V this is not such an issue for a boat.
