Can anyone suggest a good supplier for a 12 volt built in fridge.
the existing fridge is showing its age and although its working ok it needs a change.
Thanks for your help
Derek.

I think you need to do a bit of homework before making any decisions. The first is whether any current fridges are the same size as the one you have. I was able to go from an old 65 litre to a new 80 litre by cutting a strip of fibreglass about 1/2 inch wide from below the old installation. You need also to consider the heat exchanger method, dependent upon your cruising area. There have been many developments in control, heat exchange, insulation, etc. in the past ten years or so.

I agree with the earlier poster that Penguin appear to be knowledgeable. However, talking with them at LIBS I thought them perhaps a little 'high-powered' if I had not known anything about the technology. So the message is to collect plenty of info and have a rough idea about what you want before approaching anyone.

If you choose Weaco fridge DO NOT pick one with chrome effect plastic , it goes green and blisters up when you turn your back on it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif , but fridge function ok IMHO
