The title says it all, really.
Over to you, electrical wizards - if you think I should make the extension with a different type/size of cable, I'm all ears.

Btw, in view of a cruise along all of the Croatian coast, where IIRC it's often hard to find more than 16A sockets, I was thinking to rebuild my notorious LBOK (which I stupidly left in the old tub!).
But if anyone with a more recent experience than mine (by now, a dozen of years old) of Croatian marinas, I'd be interested to hear if 32A sockets are by now easier to find....

TIA!

I hope you've told the owners of your old boat that it's a LBOK!

Size is ok ours is 6 mm sq 32 A ,but a lot longer than 10 M

L is a bit short IMHO

Sometimes visiting marinas the only spare working socket is across and diagonal -- either 32 or via and adaptor 16 A

Snagg with longer it's heavey --6 mm s heavey stuff but worth the effort /hassle .
We have 15 M of 32 A 6 mm sq ---came with the boat , sack load of adaptors 16 to 32 the most popular used ,which has 5 M of cable ( for 16 A ) between sockets .
Used it recently in IT .

6mm2 will be more than enough at 10m. In fact 4mm2 will be enough at 10m if you want to save weight and money.

Thanks folks, what about the TYPE of cable?
An electrician (who actually deals more with industrial than nautical applications) suggested me that the HO7RN-F is the correct one for external usage, not only for a wet environment, but potentially exposed also to mechanical abuses.
I always used FROR cables in the past, and never had any problems, but he told me that it's not good enough...

What's wrong with "Marinco" cable
LOL, the cost of all their stuff, normally! :D
Actually, I didn't even look for a ready made cordset, 'cause I always made my own.
You have a point though - the one in your link is exactly what I was thinking to build, so I'll google a bit for its price/availability.
I'd be interested to understand the difference between H07BQ and H07RN anyway, just out of idle curiosity...

We have a piece of H07RNF, 20m iirc,
but also LiYY, one piece of 20m and one of 15m,
all 3 x 6mm2
you could also use H05RNF

H07 is rubber Coat
H05 and LiYY are PVC Coat,

I thought that the rubber coat suffers more from the sun, and can become porous,
but I'm not sure on that

we have 2 electric connections to the boat,
we can run on one, but are than limited to 40amps,

the boats mains connections are all 3 pole Blue CEE32A
I have all kind of adaptors, to CEE32A, and depending on the position we get all of them are usefull.
one or two 16A shore connections can run my boat, (remember I limit the curent taken from shore in the Victrons..
In Croatia you can still get all kinds of shore sockets,
last year (trip to / from Venice) I was with a booking agent, so usually had good positions with good power connection

I still have the Lbok, (but hardly ever used it)

the Original (old) Marinco plugs and sockets on BA were very unreliable,
and I found the replacements terribly expensive.
The advantage of CEE plus and sockets is that they are available almost everywhere and very cheap.
its so simple to make any new adaptors ...

H07BQ or H07RN have send the question to the specialists in my co

H07BQ or H07RN have send the question to the specialists in my co

I suspect as you say earlier

Rubber breaks down in UV and becomes porus ...... over time

Where as the yellow /orange PVC is more durable .

Marinco stuff is the industry standard and if there was an accident and a hawk eyed insurance Co or victims lawyer (s) or both got wind of somthing else ??

H07 RNF is more than suitable
Don't confuse H07, H05 etc that refers to the voltage is 500 or 750
It is the following numbers that identify the material the cable is made of
H05 RRF is rubber, albeit cheaper than H07 RNF
H05 VVF is PVC
Use H07 RNF or artic grade PVC 3183 AG. Colour coded blue for 240v but the 110v is actually the same voltage rating,
Anyone not sure please PM me

Thanks everybody, useful stuff. :encouragement:
(@BartW: also for the update on Croatian marinas)
