OK so its 1000 posts of occasional drivel. No wonder SWMBO thinks I waste time on the computer. Do I get a mug or a burgee? Do I stop putting my engine in gear and start taking my ensign down at night. Do I ignore all IRPCS and avoid everyone from now on. How on earth does Jimi get to 8,000 plus posts? Perhaps I will change my name and start again?

For those who I have upset - my apologies. If you meet me I will buy you a beer (well most of you anyway)

For the forumites who have asked questions that I have tried to share an honest answer with, I look forward to meeting you one day and we'll all buy beer.

John,

Excellent - you have a post per day ratio (PPDR) of 0.94. Usiing your own description (drivel) you talk almost exactly twice as much drivel as me (PPDR of 0.48). But then I'm a said accountant who has worked out your PPDR. But then if my SWMBO says I waste too much time on the PC I'm gonna say that John's PPDR is twice as bad as mine!

Gordon Bent - or something like that - Post Per Day rate - whatever next!

I think the biggest problem is that the PC in my office allows me onto YBW. I can't resist having a look at what's going on- and then I can't bite my tongue - (that should be fingers) in answering someones question or (worse) arguing with someones assertion.

The nicest thing was meeting a forumite the other day who will remain nameless who said 'You helped me'. Gave me a nice warm glow.

Of course there are the others who argue black is white that I try to ignore.

What's even more worrying is that I am away at sea some of the time and I still seem to manage nearly a post a day according to Robih. Even more worrying is that I will be shorebased from September.

April 2004 = 700 posts Julie yours 3400 sept 2003 Now that's what i call speed typing!

regards.

Peter.

I agree, this my second season as a formurite but i don't have access to the internet onboard. this year I have met some younger members of our club who are "technically" orientated and they have some excellent communications kit on board their yachts. I have been asked do i want down load and burn cds of my pictures never mind sending emails etc. I need to look into this more.

Congrats on your 1K

Regards.

Becoming a parent at such a young age, and you still found time to post 1000 times? How did you find time to go to work as well as to sea?

I will claim 10 COLD Fosters , please John. Although I dont think we have ever had a " blue" .. its just that an Aussie never misses an offer for a drink...
Congratulations on the 1000 ( you dont look a day older than 55

Brian, I will buy you a beer - perhaps we can meet up at a cricket match? Below is a picture I took on Monday. Would you like to have been there too? I only got tickets at the last minute and went with a friend from work.

Its the penultimate over and Flintoff is making a point to some Ozzie tail enders before Harmison has enough of roughing them up and puts a full length ball in to finish off the match.
