Hi All,

I was searching through the forum looking for advice on antifoul and came across a few threads for EU45.

A few people seem to like it and others not fans, any other views on it, particularly anyone on the Hamble?

I've seen from the website (http://www.eu45antifoul.com/) that it costs just under £60 delivered, however I did a search and also saw that the Sealine owners club is offering a 10% discount (open to everyone), the only downside I can see is that they only offer black and navy blue, the offer includes shipping http://shop.sealineownersclub.org/home/8-eu45-antifoul-paint.html

Just thought I'd share what I'd found!

Edit: Just found you can get a £5 off voucher on their website if you fill in their questionnaire!

Other than the Jotun prof stuff - Sea Queen etc., I reckon EU45 is as good as any of the usual ones. Trying Mare Nostrum this season.

Yes I like Jotun products as their paint is very good quality and reasonably priced, however the 'old' antifoul range is no longer available to us mere mortals, I've read on other threads that the Mare Nostrum is much less effective than the old stuff and more expensive!

Yes I know, Sea Queen was easily the best I have used. My understanding now from information on here is that it needs to be destined for a coded boat. How they know where it ends up, I don't know, but presumably on trying to buy it, some evidence is requested. You are right with Mare Nostrum its more expensive and probably less effective - I'll see next year!

I didn't know that and it isn't what their website says. I bought mine in Mallorca, from a local man who appeared to be touring boatyards to find customers.

EU45 are based out of Spain. Some years ago I and several others in Messolonghi ended up with what was a bad batch of EU45 - Bill (he's the guy you'll deal with if you order) accepted there was an issue with a specific batch and sent more tins out under guarantee/goodwill. However the next time I came to order he told me that they could no longer ship to Greece under airline regs or some such. I am aware that sending "paint" by air is punishable by death. EU45 offer inclusive delivery to EU destinations and I'd guess it doesn't all go by road. Methinks he didn't want to deal with me anymore as, as you say Greece isn't excluded in their order info!! I am now using local Greek A/F which I perceive to be no worse or better than EU45 that I had been using for 4 years.

i have asked them

I have a feeling that the answer will be no or very expensive - but if you find a way that is economic if you get the quantity up, I think there will be no shortage of takers, I would be in for 5L for a start!
Incidentally you are not allowed to take it through the tunnel :-(

I am doing the same. Quite impressed with the stuff we used last year, fouling levels quite low. Its only problem was that it is extremely self eroding, transferring onto me, Jill or the tender at the slightest touch.

[SIZE=-1]Good morning Sailorman

We do ship to the UK, the only downside is that the shipping costs will be high. This is because it's being shipped under dangerous goods and needs to be shipped on a pallet. I am not sure, but the costs could be from even €100,- and up!
