1 1/4 BSP immersion heater - supplier required

Having posted about the difficulties of removing the heating element from the calorifier back in January..... I received loads of useful advice and help and finally managed to extract it without causing any damage. A result?....... maybe!

Now it is obvious that this is a non standard size thread, it is Thermowatt 1 1/4 BSP thread.

Does anyone know where I could source a replacement element from? I am looking for one rated at 750watts so that I can run off the small 1kW genorator.

I am determined not to be beaten by this challenge.

You might be able to use something intended for a towel radiator, with a BSP adaptor?

Google is your fiend! I found this after a quick search. I believe that 1 1/4 BSP is quite a common size on the continent, indeed in Turkey I could not get a 2 1/4 BSP one

If you want a 750W heater, ask Surejust - they do them with 1 1/4 BSP fittings.

I got my 750 watt from Cleghorn Waring the Jabsco people.

Thanks for all of the suggestions........ For info:

Surejust do a 1 1/4BSP but only start at 1kW
Clegorn Waring do a 750 watt but only in 2 1/4 BSP

Norman E....... called TPFay and they have sorted me a bespoke element with 'stat for £37. Thanks for the lead. Brilliant result.
