OK, so since the V39 went a bit tits up last year, been on the hunt. Got about £70k to spend, wouldnt mind a bit less. DOnt want an old nail, like wood rather than plastic inside and two cabins would be good.

Already found the Birchwood 370 and that is tempting me a lot. Anything out there I am missing?

What about the boat GaryD is selling, 2004 and looks quite a lot of boat for £80k, and he may be open to offers?

web page

If it's more of a sleek dayboat, there's lots of Superhawk 34's (37' LOA) around 1999/2000 as low as £80k, so again maybe open to offers.

Also Cranchi 34's about that might take offers of £70k, and that's a 38' boat.

How about a Hunton 36? I know it's only got one cabin but it's gorgeous (and I'm a raggie by inclination). Can't link to it but it's on with Ancasta at £65K. Wouldn't be a bad Solent dayboat either I'd have thought.

well i've applied normal boating logic to it, and decided I want something bigger. I started out looking for a deck boat, then thought it'd be good to have a toilet, then a full screen would be warmer, then what about an overnight berth, then another berth would mean friends can come along, then ideally want 3 fwd facing seats, and before you know it we're looking at 34 footers! Why do we do it, it's a bludy stupid hobby ... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Top of the list is Windy Khamsin 34. I had an offer accepted on a 2004/5 boat in Menorca, but it turned out they'd got mixed up between the two cockpit layouts, which was a real PITA as it was a great deal. There's a couple for sale in UK, but both owners seem happy to wait for the best price, so I may end up with a SS Superhawk 34, which would hardly be the end of the world ....

I've been on that Hunton 36, it's lovely but it's so narrow that it's really compromised for anything but blasting from place to place. A Superhawk is a much better option if you want to do any overnighting, or even just socialising at anchor.

Know you've had a BMB experience, but I noticed this at Walton.
Too much money at asking, but I'm still being told there are elusive "big deals" to be had from sellers keen to move their boats on, so 20% off asking might be do'able.

Yep, not far from us either.

Haven't seen it, but remembered it 'cos it helps support (I only need one more example for it to be incontrovertible) that in this market a boat has to drop a good way below the cluster price of similar boats to get noticed, and then buyers will still assume they can negotiate, but at least you'll attract attention.

How about this

I think you will find it ticks all the boxes and will be pretty economical on the old red go-go juice.
