£350 a day.

Looks a bit like the one we were moored next to in Gibraltar last week. I watched no less than four separate crew members all busy washing the decks so it's not just fuel and moorings than run up the bills.

The cockpit of my humble yacht is in Gibraltar. In an idle moment today I googled the 78 metre times £4.50 per day to get nearly the 350 number. 10 days here for them (they been in for a while) is over a years mooring for me.

Nice windbreak though even if their fenders rubbing on the dock are noisy in the current pants weather......

Yeah, I bet there was no negotiation on that price per metre...the rich don't get rich by paying the advertised price!

Not saying it would have been cheap, but I bet the got some discount.

Ha ha ha, that is funny. The bloke who owns the marina is mega rich. Discount,,,,, will never happen! ;)

Not even from the previous owner and I knew him!

I don't know if he is happy or not but I don't think he can be any happier than I am with my 10m boat, and I spend all my time aboard. He probably drops in when he has the time between business meetings!

Of course he is
On the second/third wife ( a real bit of totty) No cash problems flash boat
What else can he want (apart from his health)

Doesnt follow at all. The ability to be happy with life isnt in any way linked to the amount of flash toys you have, always assuming you arent an Indian beggar or someone living in Soweto. For us living comfortably in the UK, happiness is about contentment not cash.

All I know is that i was bought up in a reasonably well off environment ( although certainly not in the same league as the subject), but when i walked away I was skint & on the dole (Houses, cars & boats get left behind)

I can assure you that having excess cash beats being skint hands down in happiness stakes

Agreed -

Capn, the pricing tends to be more related to loa x beam than loa in the Med. Ie area. There is no way that parking that machine is a mere £350/day. I frequently pay more than that for my tub which is tiny in comparison, in summer admittedly. A 78m would be in the order of €3500/day in a nice place in high season, and in the order of €1500/day in VAT free Gib in winter

Edit: photo is small but I think that's m/y ebony shine, if anyone wants to google her.

Our windbreak is, indeed, Ebony Shine.

The pricing I quoted is, er, from the Marina price list....

See band H 50m+ £4.50 per metre.

I guess this is why Superyacht pitstop in this marina that Ive lived in for the last 7 years is so popular! ( Ive got 2 yachts here).

Perhaps you should consider a move. Diesel cheap too and Africa 15 miles away

Now Puerto Banus is a different bowl of porridge......
