£30+ for a short piece of hose

mmmm, do these silicon tubes flex laterally at all? I think they need to because the alignment between the inlet to the air filter and the squished looking pipe that enters the Turbo don't align. If the silicon is too rigid it may be impossible to fit. Has anyone else used silicon tube on these engines successfully?

think I'll put a call into "The Oracle" that is Tom Parker (Mercuryman /Tompa Marine)

Silicone is far superior to rubber hose in just about every way I can think off. Eminently more flexible and does not dry out and crack. Standard silicone is stable up to 180 °c and thermopol is rated even higher.

Consider it an upgrade.

When you remove the old one you'll know more. The original seems to be a thin(ish) 2 ply rubber hose. Would be rather soft when new

The silicone hoses come in several types and you might want to visit a shop to compare hands on rahter than mail order
