£200 SUP

Amazing value.

The issue with the cheap ones is they flex. The more expensive like red paddle are totally rigid when inflated.

It then comes down to what you want to do with it , in what water and most likely how heavy you are as to if this will matter or not.

I am somewhat of a fat b***ard and would need one to take 120kg My wife is only about 60kg so not sure if the bigger one will do both.

We will be in calm water and just want to have an initial go..... Nothing too manic.... I think I favour the Aquaplanet one..... Also I would like to take it on holiday to Greece and at 11kg I think we could get in in as there is 4 of us going

I've got the decathlon £250 itiwit sup, it's pretty decent imo, certainly good enough for a non serious SUP'er.

We bought a Decathlon one last year, about 400 euros. I thought the quality was really good and we used it all summer, it stayed inflated on deck the whole time without needing any air. We also used it many time to paddle all 4 of us to shore from anchor (me, wife & 2 kids) and was really stable, with no flex

I did the same thing as you are doing ie think about getting one and then going for a cheap version in case I didn't like. Big mistake. basically the thing has to be able to be blown up rigid especially if you are normal or above size. Otherwise you spend all your time falling off. So i finally went the more expensive route and they are great - excellent exercise and a good way to escape cooking duty! If you do go cheaper then go bigger size as that will help I think.

I was told by a yachtie who has bought a couple over the years that the thicker ones are easier to use if you aren't used to SUPs.
IIRC most SUPs are 4" thick - I bought one 6" thick and it is a lot of fun.
I can't use it myself though - fat git syndrome.

Well I am also a fat git but I am going to give it a go :)

The SUP arrived today Amazon Prime... very pleased with it the quality seems very good. The pump is both Duel Action or Single Action. Total weight of the bits you would need to take on Holiday is about 12KG so with a big suit case and 20KG allowance each and leaving out stuff you don't need you should be able to get it on the plane. If not extra baggage allowance would be £60 for both ways
