Folks,
It is looking like work might take me to the Channel Islands for a few years, and I am wondering about a Pilothouse for frequent blasts to St Malo.
The aim would be at least 20knts, and ideally planning along closer to 30. Happy with around 40 lph/3mpg, but would prefer not to go much higher than this.
I was leaning towards something over-specced in terms of seaworthiness, which led me to Scandi things like a Minor Offshore, Botnia or Sargo - but they all seem much more than the 100K I was budgeting.
My thinking is now that a MF695 (175HP?) for around 50K would be the best option, at least as far as the “likely to find one quickly” planning ahead……
(I know that buying locally or in France would probably be best. Just keen to have a clear sense of what I am looking for first.)
So, is there anything else obvious I am missing?
Or – a completely different approach - would a Fairey be complete madness?!
