Cost of new sails for 24ft yacht

Jaguar 21 main only 2017 quote (so a bit old)

What has happened to the boat market?

I've sold two boats in the last couple of months for deliberately low prices. I wanted them gone. The internet sites produced nutters and spam without exception. One boat was a clinker sailing dinghy with all its equipment, a 'floating restoration' type of project. The other was a 20ft motor...

Non boaty question rebuilding a box trailer

Thanks, think I will go with cheap OSB and seal it with all those leftover quarter tins of boat paint cluttering up the garage, Hempel, International, Blakes etc etc all posh stuff but old. For a primer/undercoat I think I have big tin of antifouling primer which must be well over ten years old...

Non boaty question rebuilding a box trailer

We have a box trailer that is 25 years old, bearings, tyres and metalwork all good, ply floor and sides rotten. Lives outside. The first floor and sides lasted over 15 years. I replaced these with some ply that was £70 or so.. 1" thick. This hasn't lasted for 10. Obviously the best ply is...

How fast can you go with 3.5hp (on water)?

Why not try and old Finn hull? Finn was the first one to come to mind but almost any old dinghy hull could produce a fun machine and cheap to do but re-enforce the transom first!

    Easytide?

Is it just me? Opening Easytide I cannot access any info for ports in England and Wales. Ports is Scotland, Ireland and CI show up. Have I done something stupid?

    Day Sailing

There are certain dinghies that appeal to the aged mariner. Gulls, scows, Tideways etc. Boats you sit in and not on. Boats that are unlikely to get you wet. Anything bigger can be hernia territory in a dinghy park.

    Day Sailing

Which is what I do but you need a boat small enough to easily beach outside clubs and pubs.

    Day Sailing

It is obvious but to get the most out of day sailing you need to reduce the time taken to get the boat ready and later to put it to bed. The objective is to be able to step on board with a bag full of food etc and just go. Hours taken sorting out covers etc are wasted sailing hours. Then you...

    Slipping mainsheet cleat.

In the past I have have had some success sharpening the teeth with a file. Of course it works best with Tufnol but I have done it with plastic. Rather satisfying.

What has happened to the boat market?

At th.e risk of apply logic to this topic the weather is hardly 'boat buying weather'...

    Sail balance

Jaguar 25 has a transom hung rudder but is it a lifting rudder? If lifting and not down properly it will make for plenty of unwanted weather helm. If fixed my comment is irrelevant!
