Why not try and old Finn hull? Finn was the first one to come to mind but almost any old dinghy hull could produce a fun machine and cheap to do but re-enforce the transom first!

I can see Scotland but my ISP is in England which is without ports..

Is it just me? Opening Easytide I cannot access any info for ports in England and Wales. Ports is Scotland, Ireland and CI show up. Have I done something stupid?

There are certain dinghies that appeal to the aged mariner. Gulls, scows, Tideways etc. Boats you sit in and not on. Boats that are unlikely to get you wet. Anything bigger can be hernia territory in a dinghy park.

Which is what I do but you need a boat small enough to easily beach outside clubs and pubs.

It is obvious but to get the most out of day sailing you need to reduce the time taken to get the boat ready and later to put it to bed. The objective is to be able to step on board with a bag full of food etc and just go. Hours taken sorting out covers etc are wasted sailing hours. Then you...

In the past I have have had some success sharpening the teeth with a file. Of course it works best with Tufnol but I have done it with plastic. Rather satisfying.

Jaguar 25 has a transom hung rudder but is it a lifting rudder? If lifting and not down properly it will make for plenty of unwanted weather helm. If fixed my comment is irrelevant!
