Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I have recently been given alot of sails of various sizes and most of them are in great condition!
However I'm wondering if I can identify what yacht they have came from by identifying the lettering or emblem, the two I don't have a clue about are;
The letters FB...
Also the one I've seen (I can't upload the pictures) has a registered tonnage of less than 2.5t and he rudder set up is not the same as the Top Hat 25.
It's certainly a William Wilds design, but I can't find any information on him or the boats.
Thanks Peter, a very similar design but the keel layout looks slightly different to the one I've seen. Do you know anything about William Wilds designer/builder?
Again thanks for the info I'll do more reading up, thank you!
Hi all, so my local boatyard has a "mystery" classic that I just can't identify. I've scoured the internet and just by chance found something that looks identical (please see photos.)
The advert I found says that's the builder was William Wilds & Son, however there is no information whatsoever...
Because the wood looks old, and the replacement steel would surely outlast the wood. And should the steel get rusty surely this is sure sign that wood is rotten or will rot?
I just don't see how steel is would be worse than wood.
Thank you though ??
That's a good shout, thanks!
Hi All,
Currently refitting my Achilles 24 and as we have been stripping old bits off I've noticed how some of the backing plates for various pieces such as deck blocks, cleats and standing rigging.
Now the backing "plates" for the shrouds are just wooden squares approximately 25mm thick with...
Hi all,
I've been scouring the internet for a Limbo 6.6 by zygal, with a lifting keel.
Not only is information on these boats very scarce, they also seem to now be non- existent, does any one know of any for sale? I don't mind a reasonable project, in fact that would be preferable.
Thank you...
Thanks again ??
I'm not looking at the resale value, it would be a project I intend to use.
I just didn't want too much trouble, or expenditure on the concerns mentioned above, as this is a new venture for me.
I'll definitely be steering clear of this one though.
