Hi everyone,
I found a company based in Germany that gave me a very competitive offer.
EIS European Insurance & Services GmbH
They are themselves underwriters and specialize in yacht insurances. They can offer coverage for any area of the world and was the only company I found that can extend...
Pantaenius quoted me £2'207 for the same insurance cover I now pay £1'700 for with GJW. The Pantaenius cover also has an excess of 6'000 vs 1'000 with GJW.
I have been insured with GJW for many years. I live in Greece. I was informed earlier this year that as from 31 Dec 2019 their underwriter (Lloyd's) will no longer insure clients not living in the UK.
I am looking for a good alternative. I got a quote from Pantaenius which was much more...
I agree, from the camera angle the superstructure looks really odd. Like an upside down boat laying on top. However from deck level it looks much nicer, with big flat deck areas front and aft.
It was measured on the ground to 18m LOA, and it is huge inside.
Here a photo from deck level.
Yes of course, how dare a Greek harbour charge any money!
Remind me, how much does it cost to moor one night in Bozborun or Datcha these days? and how much does it cost to check in to Turkey?

There is not likely to be a fuel station this summer, but you can call a fuel truck. The whole setup looks very impressive but the way and I am happy it has stayed with Greek owners and not some big Turkish or British company as rumoured.

I was there yesterday and met the owners (from Athens). It will open this summer with 100% certainty. They are planning liftout facilities for September. But there is also the old Nireas boat yard in the port which bought a brand new 75tonne travel lift from the UK last year. Don't count on the...
We live on Rhodes now and there was a report on the local radio station a few days ago saying that it will open for a test run next week, and then if all goes well for real on June 6.
None of the shop and restaurant spaces are likely to open this season so it will be for mooring only.

Greece "on the ground" with a sprinkle of srksm
We live in Rhodes now so I thought I could add some info from "on the ground" (as they say nowadays) to this "fundamental" problem.
I can confirm that most financial and political experts in this thread are correct. Prices are skyrocketing here...
Walking around in Dubai today I saw this super small 3kg wall mounted direct drive washing machine from Daewoo.
It is like made for boats. Check it out.

Sorry about that, I didn't read the original question properly and started rambling on about wind arrows.
As a side note I totally don't agree with comparing Win 8 to Vista. I started a software company 25 years ago. Our software runs at over 1000 sites with networks ranging from 2 to 50 or so...
Version 6.1.4 runs like a train on my Win 8.1 computer. Check menu "Weather Map" and make sure "Wind arrows" is ticked. Alternatively try [Ctrl][J] to toggle wind arrows off and on.
