I have a few, Mercury 150 Optimax (2005), Mercury 25 HP (1983), Tohatsu 2.5 HP (2001). All work as they should and have been more reliable than the Mercury 50 HP (1999) Four Stroke!

Always go for the max HP or you will forever regret not doing so, you don't have to drive it flat out everywhere and you have a spare engine if one breaks.

Take all the side windows out, lay the zipped cover out in the recess behind the rear seats with the zipper on the top and open. Put all the support bars together in the recess and the cover extended flat toward the bow of the boat. Then roll the cover up toward the support bars in the recess...

Switched to Aluminium (brackish water) does exactly the same job in terms of corrosion over two years and they are cheaper!
