    ⛵️Walton Channel 2024🛥️

We’re one of those boats not out yet sadly - looking very unlikely this season as I tripped on the stairs in October and severed an ankle ligament. Currently awaiting an mri to see next steps. Surprised to hear only 13 though, usually fairly busy by now.

Pros and cons of Orwell berthing locations please.

Does it have to be Orwell? We’re across at Halls in Walton Backwaters. Brilliant yard, we use Titchmarsh for dinghy access (you could obviously use the marina or the pond at WFYC if step ashore is desired) and it’s a generally lovely place to be. Might be worth sticking this in the East Coast...

    Electrician recommendations please.

I’m looking for an electrician if anyone has any recommendations please. Our new boat has a few bits I’d really like to have a knowledgeable eye look over. We’re based Walton area. Thanks in advance.

“The Naming of Boats is a Serious Matter’’

Umm, were you in the twizzle by chance? Think that might be us... I live in fear of the day I have to spell it phonetically in anger! Back on topic that’s a lovely boat you have OP, and I agree with the others too, her name suits!

Can you walk along the beach from Cromer to Sherringham?

I make that a hotel every 2.5 miles which seems like a lot to me. But Deben to Blyth is Suffolk, not Norfolk... We've never struggled for somewhere to stay in Norfolk, even at peak times.

    harwich Ha'Penny Pier

Harbour master and location both absolutely brilliant. We spent a night there last summer, never again. Absolute mill pond and perfect forecast when we arrived, by 2am she was trying to launch herself onto the quay it seemed - didn't get a wink of sleep. That said, showers are great, HM is...

    Pinmill - info required

I've never seen the ones with visitor labels - we simply pick up a 'Ward' painted buoy and wait for him to come and pick up the fees in the morning. Sometimes he's there, sometimes he's not there, but we stick something into the RNLI pot if not. Last time it was £5 but didn't see him last year -...

    Seagull outboard

Well, everything on it moves ok, can't find the pull cord however. It's a forty series, I believe, having checked the number which is SJM30143. Anybody interested? I won't use it myself, and would prefer it to find a loving home rather than just getting rid.

    Seagull outboard

Giblets that's a useful post, thank you! I'll have a look in the morning and see if I can identify what it is!

    Seagull outboard

I don't really know much about this, other than I've not dared to use it  - it was handed down to me. Been a very long time since it was used - I'm reliably informed it worked a treat last time but that was a very long time ago. £80, but open to offers. I'd guess it's a long shaft, looking...

    Walton Yacht Basin

Yep - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=200265825556544184140.0004bdc9e340df87d44b0&dg=feature The pontoons have been updated since the above links (image is on the w&fyc website) but the approach as far as I can see hasn't really changed much! It is marked once passed the club house...
