Wind set to Increase dramatically on Saturday

They've tended to err on the side of caution quite a bit this year. The two week outlook often has wind speeds in excess of 200mph! Mind you, blasting up the Solent on Monday I was beginning to think that they might be on to something.

windy in the solent, when to turn back

Windy week Some interesting weather for early September. Did the dash round from Beaulieu to Ocean Village on Monday, in readiness for the Rose Bowl ODI, 36 kts up the chuffer with some great surfing. We bare poled at 5-6kts before rolling a scrap of jib out and powering down to Calshot at...

    Restaurants

Depends who I'm with and what the occasion is. What about a vote for good honest pub grub? Each option has its attractions, although we find that we are eating on board more often now.

Volvo 2020 overheat alarm at full RPM

There were no pieces of debris in mine, just starchy slime, which was also present under the bowl in the raw water strainer. The tube stack needed withdrawing and flushing to clear.

Have you been into Yarmouth Harbour in the last two weeks?

Sorry to hear about the damage. In nine years of ownership our boat has received three scars, all from third parties and two of them when people have got themselves into a mess negotiating the Yarmouth walk ashores.

    Plotter screen

Just a thought, most of these displays are from mass producers. If you can get the LCD screen out it might be worth popping in to Maplins/RS Components etc. Alternatively, you could Google any referrence numbers that may be printed on it and see where they lead.

Beaulieu Motor Museum - Access to from water?

There is a very pleasant footpath all the way from Bucker's Hard. Approximately 2M through woodland and open country to the village, where you can stop off for a cup of tea and ice cream, then another 0.25M by the Mill Pond to the the Museum. If you have a boat that can dry out it is possible...
