The only people to suffer will be the people with smaller/older boats with limited means. Those that can spend 500k on a boat won't care about an increase in fuel costs. Shame but that's always the way i guess

I think they are great things but personally i would not being using an electric outboard as a backup. You are very limited as to the range. You can always carry more petrol. I think one day soon this will change but for now the technology of battery life to size just is not there yet.

I had just this on an AD41..was the fresh water pump that was leaking badly. hard to spot but a simple fix with a reconditioned pump for Volvo paul.

I get your point on this. In the UK we do have limited warm sunny weather and this puts pressure on life to get on the water when it's nice. However life gets in the way....weddings..family birthdays...work events...kids parties to go to.....all of which eat into the precious summer months...
