Further to my post yesterday about a water leak, the culprit turned out to be this grey cap that popped off the right hand side below the first injector. Seems to be just a case of tapping it back in but should I use some sort of glue or sealant?
I have some hylomar blue to hand if that would...
Steve Goacher in Windermere would be the obvious choice.
I would say 2 to 2.5k based on what I have had from him previously, some.variance on cloths etc.
Ok an update on the leak turns out it's coming from a hole in the engine on the right side underneath the first injector. It appears to be a port that has lost its plug or something? I haven't found the offending item in the manual yet. Whatever it is it's not in use and nothing has changed...
Just fired up the engine to test it for the first time since last year and water is spurting out around the side. The water hoses are looking a bit sad so may as well change them all.
Is there a spec for the hose? I see some individual hose parts for high prices but would something like this...
Very understandable but sometimes weather windows come in short doses and without the ability to make progress overnight they can be missed. Getting comfortable overnight before or during this trip would be a huge help.
Sounds like a the OP should consider taking a delivery skipper or other experienced person to help expand their horizons of what is possible. Could be a long job otherwise.
That page may be true but it also sounds a lot like.an advert for a more expensive alternative.
It does sound like the floor varnishes are a go so I'll see what screwfix can furnish me with.
Making some new boards as the old ones are manky and stink.
What to coat with? The various floor varnishes from Screwfix etc appeal for their simplicity of application but not sure about longevity.
I did try warm white led but the green looked white-ish from a distance so didn't have confidence in it. Plus the mechanism that hold the lens on is slightly damaged.
Anyway I've ordered these as suggested. I like the idea of it being accessible and detachable...
If you're leaving at HW Padstow, 0630ish then Windy reckons you've got a broad reach for 3 hours so get some west in. Wind dying off by 1800 so motoring the last bit.
A slightly tedious but comfortable passage I'd say.
