There's a helpful article in the Telegraph which describes its contents as a red inflatible (liferaft) and wooden boards (saloon sole).

Certainly not my experience in W Med. Always email insurance, passport and Pt 3 before arriving at office. Aduanas and Douane have also been happy with docs on the phone, passport excepted.

At a smaller scale I bought a Clarke (MachineMart) 700W genny to replace a dead EU10i for a third of the price. The Clarke does not have the 'first pull' starting of the Honda but in all other respects is as good. Definitely much better value if slightly less quality. I changed motivated by size...
I realise the word Beneteau might induce a paroxysm but my first keelboat was a First 305, shortlisted against a Sigma 33. The Firsts of that era were very different from the Oceanis and I found it a joy to sail, the boat I least regret /most rejoice in buying from the subsequent half dozen...
So much information on plugs and ac frequencies yet no obvious indication of power consumption. 0.7kWh to make beef stew in a slow cooker? Most slow cookers are 250w = 3 hours cooking. Stew is not normally served saignant.
I was in Douglas inner harbour on the wall last August when it blew 35 knts E. Looks pretty protected but still found myself occasionally looking down onto the carpark when the swell worked in at HW, even with the sill kept closed. The proposal at Ramsey offers far less shelter.
I've bought a Seldén GTX TDF for my asymmetric. Before I cut the 16m anti-torsion cable I'd appreciate some feedback on options. The sail luff is 13.2 m so there is plenty of spare capacity to accomodate it on the 15.2m sprit to halyard-sheave length, even accounting for clearing the guard rail...
Maybe a bit left field but maybe journalists neither know nor care about the content of the 1500 words they need to submit by a deadline, as long as their editor is equally ill-informed. That's certainly born out by newspaper articles I've read on subjects I have only a passing knowledge of.
In my direct and vicarious experience what matters is the size of the claim. Contestesting a couple of grand isn't worthwhile but once you get to 5 figures all insurers start to wriggle vigorously, often without good reason.
