Avoid Wexford for your first trip - Kilmore is good. I went from Dale to Waterford last year, and once you are past the mouth of the Suir, it's a great sail (with tide, NOT against it) to Waterford (be wary of tiredness - I went into micro-sleeps, and although quite amusing, it was interesting...

Couple it with Van Loan's The Chinese Sailing Rig: Design and Build Your Own Junk Rig, the up-to-date information from the JRA (especially Arne), and you'll have a great text resource for all things 'fully-battened, Chinese lug sail'

Not quite the only one, but it's rare enough! The main idea and research comes from Norway (through the work of Arne Kverneland), but this type of rig attracts people who like to tinker :-) and the JRA is quite active. I'll be keeping an eye on her performance during the season, but I'm more...
Yup, still here
Yup, still here; as 'operator6' but not very active :-)
FYI for anyone interested in the rig - it's a converted Kingfisher 26 (Newbridge also made a 'factory' version, with the unstayed mast a few feet behind my one), with a carbon fibre unstayed mast (a racing spinnaker pole)...
