We have just checked in at Nieuwpoort. All smiles, customs are in pyramid shaped building right on the marina. Just wanted passports and boat reg. We had pre sent the entry form online and they were expecting us.

    Starting problem

Yes i see now ,didn't look properly. No mine hasn't got one.Unless a much longer run it seems like added complication having the relay. I'm sure Yanmar know better than me though.

    Starting problem

I see a solenoid on the starter but no relay.

    Starting problem

I don't think Caladh's has a relay. Some were fitted to allow for the voltage drop in the wire but I decided may as well just improve the wire. Mine has been ok for 2 years now. Whilst i was there i fitted a 2nd independent start button in engine bay in case ign switch did ever fail.

    Starting problem

Common fault and and will happen again.Voltage drop in the wire. Just replace the single wire direct from the ign switch to the starter with a heavier gauge tinned wire. This will also cut out any connection prob with the junction box. I think it was the white one on mine 3JH2TE.

    Malo anchor setup query

I don't use a swivel, Nearly lost my last anchor when a Kong split apart. If you make sure the boat has no way on or just drifting astern when you break out the anchor I find it always come up right way round. No jockey wheel on mine. Some Malos have them to keep more links on the gypsy. 20kg...

Lockdown and keeping the boat VAT paid in the EU.

I'd keep that to yourself or it will become worthless once a few hundred boats have the same receipt.

Does a Bowthruster create too much drag

Like the thruster ,Hate the drag. Always wondered if you could have some kind of outer door like torpedo tubes .Would be fun giving the order. Or a cover that pivots up into place with the force of forward water flow but then drops clear of the tunnel at low speed. How about a lightly sprung...

    Smallest boat to Baltimore?

Andy 's boat Krill moored behind us at Newton Ferrers last year while we waited out an Easterly gale. I liked it that he carries no raft but does ship a full pirate outfit. My wife was quite taken with him. It is a very small boat.
