As of 2021-07-18 I... and my boat are returning to YBW!

Why you ask? (said no one ever) YBW has gone through some changes, for the better I feel. Having cast off to bluer oceans, my experiences have been eye opening. The community in YBW is lively, it's boisterous and there is challenge but there is respect there, it is shown before it is expected. There is respect for science and rigor. While I may not agree with every decisions that the moderators make I appreciate that they do so in the light of being purely voluntary.

I may have departed previously without being punished or banned but that doesn't mean I didn't screw up. I did. I am never intentionally rude to someone but on this occasion, when taken out of the thread context I could see how my posts were misconstrued and rightfully so I should not have dropped my standards like that even in jest or friendly challenge. I hope I've learned from that in the few months I've been away.

I've chosen then to rejoin the community that share my values if not necessarily my opinions. In the hope that I can contribute or help out and make use of the excellent knowledge on these forums.

As of 2021-02-21 I... and my boat have moved on from YBW.

While I won't go into details, I've chosen to depart this community as it seeks to 'entrap' users. By this I mean it invites them to contribute to debate contentious topics. Engaging in these topics leads very quickly to 'decisions' being made. Some of these decisions I don't think are justified, so while not banned or punished, I have chosen to slip my mooring lines and move on to other places.

The community here will remain important to me as it is the place I obtained my boat. If anyone wishes to contact me, a PM works, I can also provide a tox ID and or email address on request.
