I suspect your hull is seriously fouled or your prop is encrusted thereby preventing revs rising when in gear. This causes incompletely burnt fuel being pushed into the exhaust on onto the water. This explains why things are fine in neutral.
Looks like a trip over the side is needed!

I have an arial for one if you need. The Phillips AP also has a voltmeter funtion for at least 2 battery banks so may be worth keeping. As it is NMEA linked I gather you can also feed positional data to it from a GPS so it acts as a repeater. I think it may then be able to control an autohelm. Nick
Closest to you I have experience of is Wareham and a chap called Anthony Byrde. Did an excellent job for me and would happily recommend him. Not sure if he travels though. PM me if needs his contact details
I am deciding whether to go the calorifier route for hot water for washing or to do something simpler. Does anyone have experience of the stove top Hot Tap water heaters? See:

Suggestions of similar alternatives gratefully received.
Thanks
Did you see the recent PBO gear update on the Hot Tap ST http://www.camptech.co.uk/zodihotstovetopshower.html ? Does anyone have experience of it as it would seem to be an answer to the question? I am toying with the idea currently.
Does this (taken from http://www.gbsa.org.gg/news.htm) answer the question?

Apparently the thing to revive Goretex, or at least the outer layer is a wash followed by a warm ironing. Have you tried that?

Might be worth trying Suffolk Sails in Woodbridge (down by the tidemill) I think I have seen upholstered stuff in their window. Let us know how you get on.
I have simply added a patch to the underside of the transom where it laps around to form the bottom and tends to rub when being hauled up the beach. I saw in a previous PBO practical project that someone attached some "L" section aluminium bar to the bottom angle of their transom. Looked rather...
Yes!
Had the 200 and now the 265 I think. Admittedly had light use and stoored inflated inside when not in use but both seem good value to me and have done the job fine. As with most inflatables advise you reinforce / protect the area at bottom of transom where it rubs as being hauled aground.
No that's a fast response, thanks. I've looked at the 276 in the shop and liked the screen res. although I felt that the screen was the wrong way around - should be portrait not landscape. Although I don't always succeed I try to sail more forwards than sideways and so felt an "up and down"...
Thinking of getting a Geonav 4 handheld plotter. Does anyone know if it interfaces well with Yeoman plotters? I know it should in theory but in practice is often a different scenario.
The other handheld option is the Garmin 276c. Any pros and cons I need to be aware of between these two?

Re-rigged my Sadler 26 this year and I found big Nige at Rig Magic to be excellent. Swift, lower quotation than Atlantic at Woodbridge and then came in UNDER quotation. When did you last get charged less than quoted in the marine industry?
