Newbroom

Started boating 50 years ago as a teenager, Married life in my twenties brought it to a halt for a few years. Resumed boating on the Thames when the kids were young. Joined the British Motor Yacht Club in 1979 and boated with them both inland coastal and cross channel went through the committee flag officers and was commodore for two years during its 60 years anniversary.
Had wooden boats for years first a 30ft Royal (Lady Sapphire) then a Bates 40ft Starcraft (Caricaian) Traveled extensively in both of them round coast and across channel and even through the french canels to the Med. Always did my own maintenance and engineering. Varnishing and painting was release from the stress of work.
Bought a new 575 Trader (ile'd Espriti) in 1998 when I retired and cruised extensively in the Med and at home .
I hold or have held most RYA certification including Yachtmaster practical commercially rated.
Sea Survival
First Aid
RYA Cruising Instructor (practical)
Spent 4 or 5 years doing boat delivery mainly backward and forward to the Med and instructing work before having a break from boating for a few years
Pleased to say we are back where it all started on the Thames and thoroughly enjoying it,
