Hi another problem my exhaust is leaking at the joint from the manifold to the exhaust elbow (not the water injection point) At first i thought the exhaust was blocked somewhere but it seems to be ok. Im now thinking the exhaust elbow is the culprit. It was quite badly corroded at the joint. Ive...
I've owned my Moody 44 for 15 years now. I've had no problems in the past getting a visitors mooring on the South coast in the UK. I've been in the Med now for the past 12 years and most of the boats here I would say are in the 40 foot 12M range with again no problems for visitors moorings. I am...
if direct water cooled than possible that some of the water ways are blocked so the salt water is not circulating properly around the engine causing a hot spot.
if indirect water cooled it could also be the same problem and also the fresh water pump not working
As said there seems to be enough...
Wow that looks worse than my rigging which has been on my boat for 14 years now. I will be changing it this year and probably use Jimmy green. I have heard it say that new rigging is not as good as they used to make it.
use some putty or similar to make a cup around the screw/buckle and put penetrating oil on the thread the cup you made with the putty..... will collect the excess oil and keep it in place over night. This should help to penetrate the screw thread.
Was there about 12 years ago. stayed for about 10 months. I think it was closing as the cost of clearing the silt was prohibitive. Its OK sail over to Welsch Wales etc. was also reasonable price then. Not a lot around the marina but nice and quiet.

2. Marina Davila...
Maybe dirty fuel filter blocking fuel. Worth running on paraffin for an hour or so at full heat. This may clear up the fuel filter and also clean out the chamber. I added an in line filter on mine about 12 years ago which i occasionally change. Never had any problems
Bit confused..... watched a you tube video about installing Raymarine AIS700. Apparently he was told by Raymarine UK that the 700 needs its own GNSS GPS which is supplied and that the plotter etc needs its own as well. So You need two for the system to display on the chart plotter????? WTF this...
My boat occasionally makes clonking noises when heeled over. Its the chains linking the wheel steering to the rudder quadrant they sometimes touch the side of the steering binnacle. ive owned my boat 15/16 years now and has done this when going into the wind in choppy seas healed over.
I have a sealed battery for starting the engine and 3 very very heavy deep cycle batteries for the house. I have a Sterling? regulator on the alternator which i have set to charge both at 14.4v this will charge the starter battery and also the house batteries without damaging the sealed battery...
