Indeed.
My suggestion was to cut off the antenna plug, feed the wire down through the gland, then install a new plug onto the cut cable end..
The cable was going to be cut close to the end anyway, so installing a fresh plug would, in my view, lead to the most reliable solution.
Or perhaps buy a plug that you can install at the end of the co-ax that will plug directly into the AIS unit.
That would save having a potentially lossy/reflective additional connection just a short distance along the wire.
With transducers on NMEA2000, you will be able to go into a menu on your chart plotter, then view the 'network devices' to confirm all the devices that you currently have connected (and are providing data). You will also be able to find another menu and select the 'source' for each of the views...
A spare antenna with a known good feed cable/plug (and preferably an SWR/Power meter).
Where abouts are you (or more importantly the VHF)? Someone from here might be nearby with a spare antenna and the right test kit.
A spare antenna is always useful on board in case of a lost mast or the...
I'm still using a Teltonika RUT950 on board.. It is nice to be able to share WiFi for any crew that visit.
It has the ability to set an external WiFi as it's primary WAN with fallback to a SIM card should you ever add one.
LAN side can be wired (useful if you have a boat computer without...
I should have realised that adding a second "Where was the photo taken" to the original thread might get confusing..
Identifying some of the boats in the 2021 cover might be harder..
The parts on the OPs first picture look very much like the stainless toothed part that you see on the adjustable fishing rod holders...
Ignoring the rod holder part, this example contains what looks to be the same adjustable part..
Two of the parts below the toothed section and you'd be...

It's funny that you have suggested the Tamar.
That would have been very 'warm' if you were answering regarding the cover of the Force4 2021 catalogue.
Can I add the above picture to the 'Where is it?' because I am sure somebody on here will also recognise the harbour / marina /...
I don't know which Selden mast you have or how the wires exit at the mast step.
On my selden mast, by dropping the mouse line down the internal trunking does then make it easier to retrieve at the foot, purely because it lines up with the vertical holes built into the mast foot, under the mast..
I was also going to recommend Nevada radio. They used to be in Fitzherbert Spur in Farlington before the recent move north. The previous owner, Mike was also a local boat owner. All the staff were full of radio knowledge.
I'm off track.. My first choice of antenna cable for the boat is...
Are you sure that collar (that you describe as a bush) in the photo isn't just a part/collar of the stainless pin, thus preventing it from dropping through the aluminum arm..
Edit: It would be good to see the underside..
I would also go with PabloPicasso's boiling water suggestion..
I would however pour very slowly and patiently.. It has worked for me on aluminum outboard props on stainless shafts.. Usually many kettle fulls, very slowly over a number of evenings.. but gets there in the end.
Patience is the...
