As Petite Fleur commented, why not use a soldering iron, this one has a flat tip for cutting/sealing rope etc [ see the one next to the red tin of flux]. on ebay here: item No 161495183566 around £12.00

Hi I have a set of cups for a Mini Windy, the cups are 30mm dia and the distance from the centre of the hub to the outside is 42mm, it fits a 10mm shaft, if this helps. regards Malc
