I haven't sailed for 4 years and am looking to get back into it now that I have a bit more time on my hands.
I used to sail a Jaguar 22 which I loved at the time. I have a budget of around £4,000 and have been searching eBay, boatsandoutboards for something that may suit.
As the majority of...
Thank you Graham.... I shall try next time the wind is from my backside (ahem..)
I think I must have been spoilt in the Marina, I had never really given fore & aft mooring much thought until the first time I came to use it..... in the dark, and in a heavy breeze!
My 22 footer has recently been moved from its Marina berth to a fore & aft mooring at the local yacht club.
The Fore & Aft mooring buoys are linked via a bridle.
When the wind is on the beam, its easy to cast off and motor away - but when the wind is directly from behind, I have major...
I have an idea..... why not buy me the Dufour, and you can have my lovely little Jag 22 - easily handled by 2 people! That way we are both happy
No... oh well.... just a thought.
I have recently moved my 22 footer from a busy Marina to moorings at a local club. Living very close to the Marina, I spent a lot of time observing other boats and there coming and goings. Many of the 40ft + yachts have yet to be moved this season, yet the smaller boats are in constant use...

Looking for a berth!
If anybody has a spare berth I would love to come along. I have no formal RYA qualifications but have knocked up over 1000 sea miles in my first year of sailing (without any disasters).
I'm 28, sociable and easy to get along with. I don't fart much and am a good cook...
I will be moving my boat from her Marina berth to a swinging mooring at Cardiff Yacht Club and will be needing a small tender.
Anybody got an old one going cheap?
Personally, I wouldn't want to fall in anywhere - but you are correct there has been problems - most of which are apparently rectified now.
Underwater fizzers keep the water moving and it seems to have stopped the algae growth.
Cardiff has become a great place to visit since the development of Mermaid Quay. Plenty of visitors berthing and lots & lots of restaurants & pubs. And all within 5 mins of the city centre.
The Bay itself is a great place for sailing, not very big, but excellent for beginners or dinghies.
I have looked in the quickstart manual and can't see anything relevant, I have misplaced the full manual and I can only find a manual in French to download on the Silva site. - think a call to Silva is needed
