We have a photo reactive anchor LED bulb. It will only produce light from Dusk to Dawn. It was an easy replacement in the existing fitting and reduces the battery power draw.

We've been a number of times from the IoM to Northern Ireland. It can be amazingly pretty and basking sharks and dolphin schools all the way. The entry to Strangford is exciting... and needs some care, but Glenarm is an easy access and the Harbour Master is friendly and helpful.

We have two Panasonic Toughpad F-AZ1's they are visible during daylight with out issues but the nicest things is when sailing at night you can dramatically dim the displays and so you night vision is less disrupted.. If only Navionics would have a night colour scheme as well it would be perfect...
You laptop requires a certain number of Watts (power). Watts have a direct relationship between Amps and Volts. It is possible via some relatively simple circuitry to trade Amps (of which you 12v 110Ah battery has lots) for Volts (of which you laptop needs)

For quite some time I've been using the kensington wall/Auto/Air adapters. They work with a variety of laptops and provide USB charging as well. Yes not cheap.. But reliable and provide consistent behaviour

We have a Panasonic ToughPad FZ-A1. Works really well. Sunlight visible, transreflective screen. With Android and Navionics. I'm tempted to connect a wifi forward looking sonar.. but perhaps that's next years goodie..
