From a market perspective (and I am a yacht broker) the market is still good and well presented yachts in certain segments are selling well and relatively quickly. I almost sold out in December.

Steve, our Moody 38 and prior to that our Westerly Corsair took us a combined 25,000 miles through the Med, Caribbean and USA. Even hit a reef at 5 knots with the Corsair in the Bahamas and ended up unscathed. Both had partial skegs, long (robustly fixed) fins and large very comfy aft cabins...

If it has been done properly with the right supporting documents from HMRC (as it sounds like it has) it is correct.
The relief is granted by an HMRC officer and the boat may not be sold for 12 months.
Then, providing the new owner transaction(s) fit the usual criteria, the "VAT paid" status...
