After lifting I remove "downstream" hose from raw water filter, pop it into basic cheap antifreeze/corrosion inhibitor, start engine and run till bucket almost empty. I change engine oil maybe an hour or so from boatyard so no chance to build up corroding acids and sufficient time to properly...

+1 for that. We have a babystay on which any other form of sheet attachment which I have tried hangs up when tacking. Eye splices on sheets + dyneema shackle = much easier faster and more consistent tacks.

Spoke to Ian and Bobbie in Nidri today. They said that the motorboat causing the problem actually did significant damage to their boat and refused to give them insurance details. When the PP were told the said 'nothing to do with us it is between the two of you' and declined to get involved.

We have the Lewmar but if I were buying again it would without doubt be the Lofrans. Brushes failed halfway through this season and had to get complete new motor as couldn't source any replacements here in Greece.

Unhappily this is the quay that has grown the long "commercial" pontoon, halfway between the Liotrivi taverna and the supermarket

I have just done a count-170(ish) boats not including ribs, little hire boats etc. This includes 15 at anchor. Not a lot of room to swing.

Another two pontoons have sprung up in Sivota on southern Lefkas, one beside the longstanding "Stavros" pontoon, run by the 12 Gods Taverna, which has been placed so close to its neighbour that the lazy lines are almost vertical and it is virtually impossible to get between the boats, and the...

"Normal" service has been restored at Katakolon now collecting at about 6pm 10€/night and 5€ for water OR electricity (10 for both)! Kiparissia has water accessible at several points along the quay.
