    Main Sail Cover 3m Long

I have replaced this on my Jeanneau sports boat (with the horse blanket style) so surplus to requirements now. In good condition although a wash wouldn't go amiss. The length overall is 300cm flat and height at the mast end is 116cm flat. Seems well enough made but no label. Probably french. £30...

CAV Fuel Filter Housing - used

This is a CAV type diesel primary filter, once very common on boats. I removed this from the launch I am refitting. I was going to bin it but one sold here recently, so maybe it would be useful to someone? The cartridge was fitted recently, but they are cheap and easily available from non-marine...

    Plastic Fuel Tank 42 litres

I removed this from a small inboard-powered launch, just purchased. It was far too big for the boat and has been replaced now with a smaller one. I have cleaned it thoroughly and it's ready for another boat, petrol or diesel. The hose tails (feed, breather and return) are all removable so could...

Brand new home-made trailer - regulations?

Thanks again. The actual IVA test is not very expensive, but it's complicated enough to want to avoid if it isn't needed. But the circumstantial evidence points to needing it so far.

Brand new home-made trailer - regulations?

DFL1010 - Indeed, I think I know the outcome, but I'm not trying to change it, just to clarify it. I assume a homemade trailer which has passed an IVA would be acceptable to an insurance company - why not? People still build cars and have them tested and registered I assume?

Brand new home-made trailer - regulations?

Thanks Pump-Out for helping. I can't see anything there that applies to a one-off bespoke homemade trailer newly made? Type approval is a sort of class thing? Minerva - good idea about the insurer, though it's easy for them to say no if they don't really know? I doubt if the question is asked often.

Brand new home-made trailer - regulations?

I'm looking at buying a small fishing launch on a home-made trailer. The trailer was made this year by the vendor and a friend of his, welded up from sensible components, unbraked, whole outfit less than 750kg, painted with cold galvanising paint. The problem is that neither of us can establish...

    Hi-Viz mast top

I heard in conversation with a nobby owner that the white mast tip was lime to stop the end grain rotting.

Problem replacing stuffing box with a modern seal

My approach might be to work out how that bronze piece fits on and whether you really can remove it; then, if you can, take it off and have it machined. I'm a fan of Volvo seals, but they are fussier perhaps than you realise and don't like distortion.

Cloth Sleeving for DIY Fender Socks

Left overs from a fender sock kit. All laid flat, the small one is 20cm x 64cm and already sewn. The larger stuff is about 26cm wide. The longer length is 3.4m, the shorter one is just 0.76m and sewn one end. Stretchy polyester for larger fenders. Happy to post at cost or collect from East...

    LED Automatic Anchor Light

I think "All at Sea" was the first and I have his PM, so please assume sold to him. Thanks everyone.

    LED Automatic Anchor Light

I have had one of these for years and found it really useful when anchoring. I hang it below the boom - much safer at that level than at mast-head (you'll know if you have entered an anchorage at night with other boats with masthead lights only). Turns itself on at dusk and back off at dawn...
