    DIY anti fouling tips please

Hi, trying to reduce my boating bills a bit but don’t want to mess it up as first timer. I understand steps are: scrape, sand, apply 2 coats. Any tips gratefully received, but in particular: what masking tape to use for a crisp line, and how soon to remove the masking tape after application of...

    Engineer at Penton Hook

Hello all. I think I need to get my cutlass bearings replaced. Any recommendations for an engineer that could/would do this on the hard at Penton Hook marina? Thanks in advance

    Engine hours

Personally i wouldn't get hung up on engine hours. There are probably better indicators of condition like how it runs\sounds, service history and what comes out of the exhaust. My boat is higher hours but cherished - think of all the neglected boats unsold on broker pontoons in this harsh...

Sad to see. I think we moored near the boat when visiting Chatham MDL. I think it was a charter boat then it was on the market. Hope all are safe and well.

    Waverley Thames trip

We got the train back to london from Southend but I enjoyed it so much I might stay aboard for the Red Sands Forts and the return trip next year, though as you say, that could be quite full on! Something I never noticed, are there 2 sets of forts in the Thames estuary?

    Waverley Thames trip

Yes, they deployed the tug and swing technique as we left Tower Pier. Aiming for the middle arch once tower bridge was opening was quite the art; not much margin for error. The skipper and crew must be very skilled. At Gravesend there was no tug. They pulled up about 10 feet from the pontoon and...

    Waverley Thames trip

Thanks Bran. I’ve taken my boat up that stretch a few times and always find it exciting. But I’ve never been on a working paddle steamer, which is now a unique experience- sure one not to be missed for us boat lovers! I wonder what it’s like to manoeuvre it! I’m guessing no bow thruster?! John...

Sealine F36 - value.. Opinions sought

I reckon the post covid price for a nice f37 is around £130k (asking). Pre covid about £95k. Whether the market stays buoyant is anyone’s guess, but there are some headwinds coming. Assume F36 would be similar.
