    Expensive watches on boats.

It's sad really as with the skill to build a near perfect Rolex and sell it for £500, that manufacturer could surely start their own watch brand. I'd pay £500 for a real high quality mechanical watch that wasn't a knock off of a more expensive brand.

    Victron MPPT -Any good?

I have one in my shed and one on my boat, now down to just over £40 so no point in using the cheap rubbish. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075NTT8GH

    Sailing Video

YouTube is the best way, you can delist it or set it to private so only those with the link can view it. Or leave it public and share it with the world.

    Running engine without alternater

If the belt is only driving the alternator then you can safely run the engine without the belt, the engine doesn't require electrical power to run once started. You could turn the ignition switch off to silence the alarm but then you wouldn't be warned if the water temp got too high or the oil...

Running a mini PC from a power bank

Use one of these chargers and it is just about enough to keep my chunky Dell CAD laptop fully topped up throughout the work day. For a normal laptop or a mini PC it would be more than enough. 20V 15V 12V 5V USB-C Car Charger Power Supply Adapter for Macbook Laptop Phone | eBay

Advice about Saint Alban's head passage tomorrow

If you want to see what wind over tide at St Aldhelms is then this was my experience (around the 6 minute mark is where I'm in that area): It was F5/6 W with a spring tide in my favour. I was sailing a Trapper 28 so small and with low freeboard, it was a very wet trip! Unfortunately the...

    New ePropulsion eLite?

Sounds like a posh trolling motor to me. Good for distances and conditions that could be rowed but you either can't or are too lazy.

    Single Handed Reefing

Move the halyard to tie off at the mast or change your reefing arrangement so it can all be done from the cockpit.

    Yanmar 1GM10 alternator belt size

My 1GM10 used a Gates 6560MC but there are two different lengths so you need to double check which is correct for your engine.

Studland eco moorings, ?pick up strop

Just the metal loop. I picked up the buoy single handed from the cockpit by setting up the mooring line as I sailed in.

    Battery recommendations

Most lithium batteries only have a 1C discharge rating on the BMS so you would be looking at a 280-300Ah battery to get the correct rating for a windlass. Expensive and far more capacity than you need. If you could use it as a house battery as well then it could be worth it but you would need a...

Boat propulsion. Is electric actually green?

Seems like the biggest issue with boating is lack of use on average. The solution is shared ownership or chartering so that less boats need to be manufactured.
