Slider stays in track with clew on shackle as fitted by sailmaker, stack pack can still slide out just with rope inside.seam. Sika not in boom track just pack seam
We sail all year round so don’t take them off very often
It’s probably staying on as the battery voltages are still high. With solar onto your house and vsr switched in both batteries will be as charged as available power.
Even if it stays on what problem will this cause if no other loads are on? Have you fitted a solar controller?
We’ve just gone loose footed, run a length of 10mm down the track with a bit of sika to hold it in, could have stitched but did not think of that first

We’ve had no issues for 6 years and fitted just the same as yours just in front of mast step sealed well with self amalgamating tape, checked it last year and perfect.
Make sure you get a quality plug, the ones I use are water proof glanced and silver plated.
Go to a radio ham shop for good choice, will be cheaper than chandler
We had a new Genoa for our old 24footer 4 years ago £600 and a new for our current 29ft was £900 last year, new main this year £1600 so would expect less for yours, both from Jeckalls
Stanley are the diy brand for dewalt, the stack boxes are interchangeable, the Stanley ones about half the price.
Also the drawer versions are perfect for use on the boat as they are on roller runners and clip closed
As said above, you will be carrying the weight of water anyway just in a different tank, if you take out clorifier you will also reduce your water capacity
I sailed international OK and this also clipped at the top of the mast, it had a short wire strop which clipped in to a small vee clip, when pulled by the halyard it would release and then keep free as sail dropped. Could not reclip so worked well and did not really take any effort
