    I remember a similar proposal for Swansea Bay. Every time someone looked at the proposal in detail the cost went up and the electricity generation went down. I suspect this will have similar economics

    Corroded aluminium alloy sheaves

    An old crewmember was an optician. He took my traveller cars which were blocked with corrosion and cleaned them in his ultrasonic bath, normally used for cleaning glasses. Worked well.

    Why not see if any of the existing racing fleet are looking for crew for a race or two. Give you an idea of whether you enjoy racing and the standard of the fleet.

    There is a book about the Aussies winning the Cup. Born to Win John Bertrand as told to Patrick Robinson. Very interesting read. They made the mystery of the keel the big thing, but also they were recutting sails overnight to suit the expected wind for the following days racing

    Roger Taylor of Jester Challenge fame fitted a clear dome to his hatch. Gave a better view and a bit of increased headroom.

    What are you hoping to achieve with your bilge blower? Petrol vapours are heavier than air so will accumulate low down, thus any ventilation needs remove vapours and air from the bottom of the bilge. Industrial gas fired ovens are required to have a prepurge of 5 volumes as part of the start up...

    Powersailers have their uses!

    Swallow yachts produced a powersailer recently. I think it was the Coast 250. Big outboard well forward to get the weight central. Not sure if it is still in production. There was a test in one of the sailing mags at the time.
